Captain Marvel release date,cast and everything we know so far

Captain Marvel’s highly anticipated release is fast approaching after being pushed back nine months.

The Marvel film – which stars Brie Larson in the titular role – has been something of a mystery to Marvel fans, with little information given.
Captain Marvel’s first reference came at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, which sent fans into overdrive.

Here’s everything we know about the female-led superhero movie so far…

When is Captain Marvel released?

The superhero movie will hit cinemas on 8 March 2019.

What is Captain Marvel all about?

Based on the popular comics by Carol Danvers, this story will take place in the 1990s and feature shape-shifting Marvel aliens the Skrulls as villains.

During an interview with ComicBook.com, Marvel president Kevin Feige kept things vague about the plot, saying: ‘You already know as much as you need to.
‘We’ve got Skrulls, we’ve got the Kree, it takes place in the 90s, you have Sam Jackson with two eyes and Carol Danvers, a unique telling of Carol Danvers origin story.

‘We are about two weeks out from completion of principal photography.’

Feige also confirmed that the Captain Marvel character will go on to be ‘very important’ to the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It was confirmed last month that filming had indeed wrapped on the movie.

Who is in the cast?

Samuel L. Jackson will return as Nick Fury, with Jude Law and Gemma Chan also starring alongside the main player, Larson.

The cast also includes: Lee Pace, Ben Mendelsohn, Annette Bening, Robert Kazinsky and Kenneth Mitchell.
