Over 1.2 billion users all over the world are using Gmail to send emails. It is not just used by individuals but also by big organizations. And quite often we become a part of email conversations that become a long thread soon. Overtime, it becomes the toughest thing on planet to actually find one particular conversation from the thread.

You really must have wished atleast once in your life that Gmail introduces a feature to help us disable email threads.
After a point, it becomes a pain scrolling and finding out one particular conversation (email) sent by someone and you wish there was a method to disable email threads on Gmail. It looks like Google has heard your prayers.
Google’s new feature will soon Android and iOS users of the Gmail app to turn off conversations.

This means that emails that were previously a part of the thread can now be opened individually.
The company stated in its blog post,
“In Gmail, replies to emails are grouped together as ‘conversations,’ to make them easier to digest and follow. Some users, however, prefer to see each of their emails listed individually in their inbox.”
The feature was previously available on the desktop version of the client.

Here’s how you can start using the feature through web client:
  • Go to the settings menu
  • Tap on the Conversation view and click on the “conversation view off” option
If your conversation view is switched off on the web, the conversation view will be turned off in the mobile app as well.
Here’s how users of Gmail app can enable the new feature:
  • Open Gmail app on your phone
  • Click on settings menu and tap on General settings option
  • Now uncheck the box next to it to turn the view off
    Google has still not finished rolling out the feature for all users of the app which will take up to 15 days according to Gmail. So, you might have to wait until the update arrives your device.
