Pakistani, Indians call for peace as #SayNoToWar trends on Twitter - 2019






Amid war fears, several social media users advocated peace/ file photo
As tensions escalated between India and Pakistan on Wednesday, several took to Twitter using the hashtag #SayNoToWar.
The hashtag soon became one of the top trends in India and Pakistan.
Pakistan Air Force on Wednesday shot down two Indian aircraft inside Pakistani airspace and arrested an Indian pilot ground. The move followed India's intrusion into Pakistan's airspace early Tuesday.
Amid war fears, several social media users in India advocated peace and urged that war should not be fought.
Pakistani Twiterrati used the hashtag in a bid to desecalate the situation.

Another Twitter user voiced that the two nations have bled too much so far.



Two nations have spilled enough blood to know the color is red but not blue or green.


An Indian Twitter user stated that the powers in both the countries should play their part in restoring peace.




Those who celebrate war will not participate in the war, those who participate in the war, will never celebrate war.

Latest: I've just listen him (Pak PM Imran Khan) very clearly on online radio app. He said again to Indian PM that don't escalate this issue and don't politicize this issue for your political propaganda. War will not give us anything.

I as a citizen of Pakistan request my govt to treat the “captive” Indian pilot well and send him back ASAP as a gesture of peace. Come on Pakistan you can do this

This Twitter user from India said that she initiated the trend and is glad to see it flourish on the social media platform.
